Pastor Christopher Russell
Born in the settlement of Lowe Sound, Andros. Apostle Russell has come from humble origin. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Victor and Araina Russell, who taught him the principals of living and the importance of obedience to God.
Apostle Russell's childhood education was obtained at The Lowe Sound All Age School and The North Andros High School. He joined The Royal Bahamas Defense Force in March 1991 and retired in February 2001. During his (20) twenty years of service, he held the position of an instructor for (13) thirteen years. He attended Coxswain Sea School and the Boat Swain Mate School at York Town, Virginia. At Norfolk Virginia, he was certified as an instructor and Maritime Law Enforcer. He was also certified in Marine Emergency Duty Patrol Craft Operation by Canadian Authorities.
He has a certificate in Advance Fire Fighting from Fort Lauderdale, Florida Institute. He also has a degree in Theology from Christian Life College.
Apostle Russell's achievements as a disciplined accomplished military have been transferred to the Gospel Ministry as a devoted soldier for Jesus Christ. Apostle's background in following and giving order while in The Royal Bahamas Defense Force has proven to be an invaluable asset in his leadership role as God's under Shepherd. He is sensitive and obedient to the voice of God, his Commander-In-Chief and is known to seek direction through fasting and praying before he attempts to fulfill the task of his Master.
Apostle Russell held several positions in the Church before being called as The Pastor of The Christian Tabernacle Church. His dedication and loyalty to the founding Pastor, the late Reverend Anderson Sands Sr. and the membership of The Christian Tabernacle Church has resulted in a thriving Ministry
Apostle Russell is married to the former Anna Sands, and they are blessed with two sons, Christopher Jr and Joshua.
